Community Engagement Sessions

Behavioral health services in our community are changing, and we want to hear from you. Join us at one of our community engagement sessions and share your ideas for improving mental health and substance use services in Alameda County. Your input will help shape the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) Integrated Plan Annual Update for Fiscal Year 2027-2028.

The Community Input Survey begins on Monday August 10, 2026, and ends on Tuesday November 10, 2026.

The Alameda County Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) Division would like your input on ways to improve behavioral health services to better serve you and your community in Alameda County. This Community Input Survey is part of the community planning process for the BHSA Integrated Plan Annual Update for fiscal year 2027-2028.

BHSA is funded through a 1% tax on income over $1 million. BHSA helps fund mental health and substance use services, with a focus on people who have the greatest behavioral health needs. BHSA supports:

  • Mental health and Substance use disorder services
  • Housing interventions
  • Early Intervention services to help people get support before a crisis occurs
  • Improving access to culturally responsive and community based behavioral health services
  • Reducing disparities and improving access to care for underserved communities
  • Growing and strengthening the behavioral health workforce
  • Improved accountability, transparency, and oversight

We need your assistance to prioritize needs and to offer ideas/strategies/solutions. There are 29 voluntary questions in the survey, and it takes about 10 minutes to complete. Your responses are anonymous and optional. You’re welcome to leave questions blank. The Community Input Survey is available: Monday August 10, 2026 – Tuesday November 10, 2026.
